Where to mount the outdoor unit

Vibration isolation pads and flexible line routing reduce stress at wall penetrations. Every mile of travel shakes connections — strain relief and proper support matter.

• Rear hitch cargo rack: popular on skoolies and fifth-wheels — good airflow, easy service access
• Bumper platform: works on trailers with rated bumpers — watch tongue weight limits
• Roof bracket: saves rear overhang length — adds height and wind load; secure for highway speeds
• Under-skirt enclosed bay: possible on stationary skoolies — ensure airflow clearances per manufacturer

Interior head placement

Mount the head on an interior wall with line set routed through a cabinet or closet to hide the chase. Avoid exterior walls if possible — less thermal bridging and easier insulation patch.

Keep clearance below the head for airflow return. Do not mount over the bed headboard without checking throw direction — cold draft complaints are common with poor placement.
